Paperpila (PAY-per-PEA-luh) is what happens when you combine a full time freelance graphic designer's need for a creative escape, a love for paper, and an attention to detail.

the making process

I'm a designer first so all designs start out as digital works, that I create as vectors in Adobe Illustrator to scale and ready to assemble. Next they are sent to my Cricut, where each color paper is cut to precision. Finally, pieces are hand assembled with high quality adhesives and risers that adds to the depth and layers.

design inspiration

I'm heavily inspired by pop culture, focusing on simple shapes and designs with bold colors that play with depth. All my designs feature pop-art styled, minimal characters or bold unique typography.

paper perfection

If you attend lots of print and design conventions, you end up with a lot of the most beautiful swag. I'm talking high quailty prints on the thickest cardstock you've ever seen. That's when the obessesion began.

Papers are carefully curated for each piece. As important to the overall design as the layer themselves. I only use premium cardstock that is thick and solid — while mixing the textures for more visual interest.

say 'no' to confetti

I’m meticulous about how each layer fits together in real life. I avoid what I call "confetti"—those tiny, impossible-to-place bits that love to go rogue (straight to the recycle bin!). To combat that, I developed a layered typography method that keeps everything clean and connected. No more vanishing i dots or missing e holes—just smooth, solid letters that hold up in paper form.
